I am sinking

Written on August 17, 2007

Like many others, apparently, I am now sinking slowly into the blogging swamp. I did not want this. I am deeply sceptical about the importance of blogs. Bloggers tend to be self-absorbed little bastards, believing themselves to be chaning the world, one blog article at a time. Bullshit. Almost noone reads these fucking things. No fucking quality control. For every person blogging about something important, there are a hundred thousand who blog about their cat, the weather, or what they think about the latest game. I call bullshit. Sturgeon was onto something.

On the other hand, theoretically, this might be a revolution in information sharing, a truly democratic way to share information between equals. I might be wrong about this. I love being wrong, as being right might have its own power, but being wrong proves that I am not perfect, that I still have a lot to learn.

There will probably be other posts, on topics like my favourite hobbies (roleplaying, for instance), my progress in computer games, and cats. In other word, Sturgeon’s Revelation is true, even here. But what do you care? You’re not even real. Noone reads these blasted things anyways.
